I was working on editing a photo session I had with Chris and Michelle a little while back, and I came across this picture. Â I loved this image, but as you can see, the SOOC (straight out of camera) shot is extremely underexposed and needed some help. Â However, I knew it certainly had potential. Â I mean, look at that backlighting and the adorable expressions on their faces! Â Here’s the “before”:
I also noticed the framing was a little bit off, Michelle’s legs were cut off mid-calf. Â No big deal, so I fixed that up with a little cropping. Here is the “after” image:
I ended up doing a lot to make this image a winner – did some work in curves, used a few of my favorite actions from Paint the Moon and My Four Hens to fix up some parts of the photo, and I really like how it turned out! Â Here are the images again, side-by-side.
